Senior Full-Stack Developer
Founding Team Member 

About the Role:

We're seeking our first technical hire - a senior developer to join our founding team and take ownership of our technical direction for a mission-driven social impact startup. You'll be working directly with proven prototypes built in Next.js and a validated customer pipeline, positioning you to make a significant impact from day one while contributing to meaningful social change in the early education and child care space.

 

This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a growing social impact venture, with the potential to transition to a full-time equity position as we reach profitability.

 

What You'll Do:

 

Take full ownership of our technical stack and drive product development from prototype to production for our social impact platform. You'll architect scalable solutions, implement new features based on customer feedback, and establish development processes that will support our growing team. Working closely with the founding team, you'll translate both business requirements and social impact goals into technical solutions while maintaining high code quality and performance standards.

 

Requirements:

 

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience

  • Strong expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript

  • Proficiency with modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+)

  • Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Vercel, AWS, GCP, or Azure)

  • Knowledge of API design and development

  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns

  • Understanding of version control (Git) and deployment processes

 

Essential Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills - ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate productive cross-functional discussions

  • High adaptability and comfort with ambiguity - thrive in fast-changing environments with evolving requirements and limited resources

  • Strong ownership mentality - take full accountability for decisions and outcomes, with willingness to go beyond defined responsibilities

  • Leadership potential - ready to guide technical direction, mentor team members, and help scale our engineering organization

  • Previous startup or early-stage company experience preferred

  • Comfortable being a key decision-maker in a small, collaborative team
